Of couse the best safety valve we have, is a good global conflict.
Morgan Tsvengarai's trial began today in Zimbabwe amid no small degree of chaos.. Robert Mugabe is maintaining this prosecution is not an attempt to silence his opposition, but rather the government's response to an overt attempt to overthrow it, but then one would be very surprised if he took any other stance. The thing is, Mugable and his government have lost a few court cases of late.. this one has restricted press presence, and frankly not many have been given their accreditation yet..
Right here in middle England, there are calls from am MP for equality is prosecution of racist attacks on white folks. Phil Woolas represents Oldham, and Oldham was badly hit with running battles between Asian and Caucasian back in 2001.. and while the Caucasian offenders have been severely dealt with, it appears it Asians have not.
The discontent is just under the surface. Any pretense at ethnic equality is only a veneer.. and that applies to all the segregated communities that share the air here..
The Pakistani's are claiming they're the victims of an Italian 'conspiracy'..that from the Pakistani Information Minister Sheikh Rasheed Achmed.. This Minister claims that Pakistani nationals who have been living and working in Italy have been targeted..
One is left to speculate on what the nature of the conspiracy might be, but it's a short leap from Italy to Rome, and from Rome to the Vatican. The Islamic nations, of which Pakistan numbers, are polarizing, and the first tentative dogmatic charges have been set off from a nation that has, until now, been well in the background.
George and Tony.
Well, what can one say.
