One must wonder at times, the meaning of the word 'moral' as defined in the mind of the motk.
While cloning has been derided, and dismissed as amoral.. the work plods on towards mapping human DNA, with the goal being the ability to turn off specific genes which are disrupting an internal defence mechanism.. we can thank the nematode worm for that titbit..
With new technology..RNA interface.. they can de-code genes, by turning them off and watching what happens.. this by the way in the hopes of finding a genetic cure for such as cancer.. but should it work we have a plethora of ailments which could be eradicated.. MS..CF..SB..the list is endless..
Seems rather hit and miss.. one would hope the test subjects are prepared for some contraindications.. but the point is, this work is sanctioned.. applauded.. and it amounts to much the same effect in the long run as does cloning..The extension of human life beyond that which the individual body would support on it's own.
Humans will evolve no more, for we adapt the environment to suit us.
